BLOCK 02
Components & Control Devices | Field Evaluation Scenario
In this Mastery Review, demonstrate your ability to evaluate refrigeration system operation as a complete process. Your response should reflect technical understanding, field awareness, and the ability to explain system behavior clearly and professionally.
NVC2400 High Pressure Cutout Evaluation
When evaluating an NVC2400 dryer that is tripping on High Pressure Cutout (HPCO) within the first minute of operation, provide a structured technical response explaining:
• Diagnostic Approach: Walk through your troubleshooting process for identifying the high-pressure condition.
• Fan Cycling Operation: Explain the operating pressures at which each fan cycling switch cuts in and cuts out.
• System Protection: Identify the pressures at which the system trips on HPCO and LPCO.
• Fault Identification: Determine the most likely cause of the failure and explain how you would confirm your diagnosis.
• Component Evaluation: Describe how fan cycling switches, the liquid line solenoid, and refrigerant system performance influence troubleshooting decisions.
Focus on how component evaluation and system knowledge facilitate effective troubleshooting.
